Job description

Cape Asset Management is hiring a Development Controller to support our expanding commercial real estate development platform.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting and finance professional with a background in commercial real estate development, construction accounting, or shopping center development. The Development Controller will oversee project financials, construction draws, budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and development accounting operations across multiple projects.

What You’ll Do

Manage development accounting and project financial reporting

Track construction budgets, job costs, and cash flow

Oversee lender draw submissions and funding coordination

Build financial models and project forecasts

Partner with leadership on acquisitions and development strategy

Improve accounting processes and internal controls

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of development or real estate accounting experience

Commercial real estate or construction accounting background

Strong Excel and financial modeling skills

Experience with Yardi preferred

Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented professional
