Job description

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, , hallo, vitejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role

Real Estate is Canva's largest vertical by revenue among our top accounts, and our Listings App is the reason enterprise real estate customers choose us. As we scale this vertical, we need someone to own the MLS onboarding experience end-to-end - coordinating across MLSs, brokerages, our data partner Constellation Data Labs, legal, finance, and engineering to get every customer live faster. That's where you come in.
As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavor of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

  • Own MLS onboarding end-to-end: Be the single point of accountability from the moment a deal closes - coordinating kickoff calls, tracking every active case, and keeping customers, MLSs, brokerages, and internal teams aligned through to go-live.

  • Navigate forms, agreements, and vendor registration: Complete MLS vendor questionnaires, prepare data license agreements and secure the necessary approvals, manage fee payments, and act as an authorized signer for Canva across MLS partnerships.

  • Build the playbook, then run it: Design and own a repeatable, documented onboarding process that scales with Canva's growth in this vertical.

  • Own compliance and audit: Review all active MLS connections for compliance gaps, manage renewals, and partner with finance and legal to keep every connection on solid ground.

  • Be the internal MLS expert: Advise Product on data requirements and roadmap decisions, flag compliance considerations, and help the team understand what great looks like for this space.

  • Drive automation and efficiency: Continuously look for ways to cut onboarding time and reduce manual steps in the process.

  • Manage and Grow Canva's PropTech Partner Ecosystem: Help identify and stand up new real estate data partnerships that deepen engagement and drive growth across the vertical. Including representing Canva at industry conferences and events.

You're probably a match if

We're looking for someone who knows the MLS world inside and out - with real relationships across the landscape, a sharp understanding of data licensing and compliance, and the process discipline to navigate a complex, multi-party ecosystem without dropping a ball.

  • Deep MLS expertise: 5+ years working directly with or within MLSs, real estate data providers, or real estate technology companies, with strong relationships across the industry.

  • Technical fluency: Solid knowledge of US MLS operations - IDX/VOW licensing, RESO standards, brokerage data release agreements, and the compliance requirements that come with them.

  • Legal and commercial comfort: You understand the legal considerations around MLS partnerships and are comfortable representing Canva as an authorized signer in negotiations and onboarding forms.

  • Process builder: You've built or run complex, multi-party workflows before (Airtable or similar tools are your friend), and you know how to bring order to ambiguity rather than waiting for someone else to write the playbook.

  • Communicator and translator: You can turn complex MLS requirements into clear, actionable briefs for legal, product, and engineering audiences, and represent Canva professionally in external negotiations.

  • Self-directed and detail-oriented: You prioritize a complex, high-stakes workload without being chased, and nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.

  • Industry Connections: you have deep industry connections with PropTech companies such as Cloze, Rechat, MoxiWorks, Lofty, Local Logic, and LiveBy.

  • API/MCP Fluency: You understand the basics of REST APIs, AppSDKs, and MCPs.

  • AI Power User: You use AI beyond the chatbot. You understand Claude Cowork or ChatGPT Work at the Agentic level. You build Skills and Scheduled Tasks to multiply your output.

  • Bonus: Experience with Constellation Data Labs, Cotality, or similar MLS data aggregators; familiarity with CREA or Canadian MLS systems; background in real estate law or data compliance.

About the team

As Real Estate Partnerships Manager, you'll be the single owner of MLS onboarding and Real Estate Tech Partners at Canva - the connective tissue between Sales, Legal, Product, our data partner Constellation Data Labs, MLSs, and our customers. You'll start by taking full ownership of every active MLS onboarding case, auditing existing connections, and building a documented, repeatable process from the ground up. From there, you'll expand your impact to existing/new real estate partnerships that help our customers get more value from Canva and drive growth across the vertical.
This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds trust across a wide range of stakeholders, and takes real ownership of a process that today depends on no one in particular - and soon, will depend on you.

Other stuff to know

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills, merit and business needs, in compliance with applicable local laws.

We celebrate all types of skills and backgrounds at Canva so even if you don't feel like your skills quite match what's listed above - we still want to hear from you!
