What is real estate cold calling?

A Real Estate Cold Calling job involves contacting potential property buyers or sellers who have not expressed prior interest. The goal is to generate leads, set appointments, and build relationships for real estate agents or investors. Cold callers use scripts, overcome objections, and follow up with potential clients to drive sales. Strong communication skills and persistence are essential for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in real estate cold calling?

To thrive in Real Estate Cold Calling, you need excellent communication skills, persuasive sales abilities, and a basic understanding of real estate concepts, often backed by experience in sales or telemarketing. Familiarity with CRM software, autodialers, and lead management systems is highly valuable. Resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude help individuals stand out by building rapport and handling frequent rejection. These skills and qualities are crucial for generating leads, booking appointments, and contributing to overall sales success in a competitive industry.

What are some common challenges faced in real estate cold calling, and how are they typically addressed?

One of the main challenges in Real Estate Cold Calling is dealing with a high volume of rejections and maintaining motivation throughout the day. Successful professionals address this by developing strong resilience, using proven scripts, and regularly training to improve their approach. Teams often support each other with feedback sessions and celebrate small wins to boost morale. Additionally, clear performance metrics and ongoing coaching help cold callers refine their skills over time, making it easier to turn cold leads into opportunities.

Does real estate cold calling still work for real estate agents?

Real estate cold calling remains a common prospecting method for real estate agents, especially when combined with other outreach strategies like follow-up calls and CRM tools. Its effectiveness depends on the agent's skill, script quality, and target market, but it can generate leads and appointments when executed consistently. Success often requires persistence and proper compliance with telemarketing regulations.

Job description

Summary
Real Estate Agent
Brick & Banister Real Estate Co.
Minnesota and Wisconsin
Most brokerages recruit agents and leave them to figure things out on their own. We took a different approach: we built the team we wanted when we were starting out and created a culture where people work together, share leadership, and support one another.
What You Can Expect
If you're newer to real estate, you'll receive practical coaching-not just a script. Every weekday morning, we meet on Zoom for Power-Up, an informal working session focused on what's happening in your business right now. Bring your coffee, skip the dress code, and come ready to learn. Your first cold call may not go perfectly. That's okay-we'll help you evaluate it and improve your approach the next day.
If you're an experienced agent who's tired of working alone without the systems needed to grow, you'll quickly see the difference. You'll have direct access to a broker who built her business from the ground up and is willing to share exactly how she did it. You'll also have the support of the complete PLACE ecosystem, including:
  • CRM and lead generation
  • Transaction management
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Human resources
  • Legal support
  • Recruiting

These are tools and resources that could cost tens of thousands of dollars to develop independently-but they're already in place and working for our team.
We're not looking to simply fill a desk. We're intentionally growing by approximately two agents per month, with meaningful infrastructure being developed to support that growth.
What We're Looking For
  • A licensed real estate agent in Minnesota or Wisconsin-or someone willing to become licensed
  • Grit, initiative, and a willingness to accept coaching
  • Someone committed to building a real estate business, not just closing occasional transactions
What We're Not Looking For
This is not a place to hang your license and work without accountability. If you're seeking a low-engagement environment, this team may not be the right fit.
We make no promises regarding income or production. We provide the leadership, systems, and tools; what you accomplish with them is up to you.
Ready to learn more? Apply today, and let's have a straightforward conversation.
Responsibilities
  • Consistency is Key - Even on tough days, showing up matters. Success doesn't come from skipping daily tasks; it's built through consistent effort and being present for the team.
  • Lead Generation Mastery - Business won't fall into your lap. You'll use proven scripts and tools to generate leads. If making calls isn't your thing, this isn't the right fit.
  • Guiding Clients with Care - You'll work with buyers who may be undecided but need guidance. Patience, expertise, and diligent follow-ups are essential to help them find their perfect home.
  • Confident Negotiator - Writing offers and negotiating deals is where you shine. This role requires confidence and the ability to handle challenges with skill and professionalism.
  • Active Team Participation - Being part of a team means engaging in Power Up calls, script practice, and client events. Accountability is key, and we expect you to show up, support the team, and contribute.
  • Track tasks and progress with PLACE Technology.
We've got a killer CRM, and we expect you to use it. Tracking your calls, appointments, and tasks is non-negotiable.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
  • Active Real Estate License in MN or WI
  • Self-Motivated and Hardworking - If you're waiting for someone to hand you success or you're tired of putting in the effort, this role isn't for you.
  • Resilient in the Face of Rejection - You'll hear "no" often, but it's part of the journey. Grit and perseverance are essential to thriving in this industry.
  • Passion for Hard Work and Achievement - Real estate isn't a casual hobby; it's a career that rewards dedication and effort. If you're ready to put in the work, the results will follow.
  • Eager to Learn and Adapt - This industry evolves constantly. A willingness to embrace challenges, learn new skills, and grow-even when it's uncomfortable-is vital to your success.
