Position Summary

The Human Resources Specialist will support and execute key HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training, and workforce development. This role is essential in maintaining a positive workplace culture while ensuring adherence to company policies and employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

· Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for plant, driver, and administrative roles

· Conduct interviews and assist department managers in candidate selection

· Manage onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation

Employee Relations

· Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns

· Support conflict resolution and performance management processes

· Promote a positive, compliant, and safety-focused workplace culture

Benefits Administration

· Administer employee benefit programs including health, vision, dental, life insurance, and retirement plans

· Coordinate enrollments, changes, and employee communications

· Liaise with insurance providers and brokers

· Conduct benefits orientation and open enrollment sessions

Compliance & Records Management

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws

· Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS (ADP) data

· Assist with audits, workers’ compensation, and OSHA documentation

Training & Development

· Coordinate employee training programs

· Track certifications, safety training, and required compliance courses

· Support leadership development initiatives

Payroll Support

· Assist with timekeeping review and payroll coordination

· Address payroll discrepancies in collaboration with accounting

Qualifications

· Associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

· 2+ years of HR experience (construction or industrial environment preferred)

· Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

· Experience administering employee benefits programs

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Proficiency in HRIS (ADP)systems and Microsoft Office
