About the Claims Analyst Role:

As a Claims Analyst within our Life & Health Claims team, you will develop expertise in assessing and managing claims while supporting Swiss Re's commitment to delivering fair, timely, and thoughtful claim outcomes for our clients.ย 

You will primarily focus on mortality claims while gaining exposure toย additionalย Life & Health product lines, including group life, accidental death, disability income, and waiver of premium claims. Through a combination of on-the-job learning, coaching, and collaboration with colleagues across underwriting and client management,ย you'llย buildย a strong foundationย in claims assessment, risk analysis, and client service.ย 

Your responsibilities will include:ย 

  • Manage a portfolio of claims from first notification through final resolution, ensuringย timely,ย accurate, and consistent claim handling.ย 

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle mortality, group life, accidental death, disability income, and waiver of premium claims.ย 

  • Analyze policy terms, coverage provisions, and claim documentation toย determineย eligibility and claim outcomes.ย 

  • Conduct detailed claim investigations, evaluate medical and financial information, and document claim files appropriately.ย 

  • Apply technicalย expertise, sound judgment, and analytical thinking to achieve fair and prompt claim resolutions.ย 

  • Complete detailed reviews of claim-related issues andย maintainย accurateย claim records and documentation.ย 

  • Establish andย maintainย appropriate claimย reviews and consultations for clients.ย 

  • Maintainย a strong client focus by proactively researching issues, responding to inquiries, and helping ensureย a high levelย of client satisfaction.ย 

  • Partner closely with underwriters and other internal stakeholders to provide claims consultation, support coverage discussions, and share claims insights.ย 

  • Contribute claimsย expertiseย to business initiatives, changes in claims philosophy, best practices, and process improvements.ย 

  • Support the development of claims processes, systems, and operational enhancements.ย 

  • Contribute toย claims reporting, trend analysis, and business intelligence activities to support decision-making.ย

About You:
We are looking for people who:ย 

  • Have completed, or are about to complete, a Bachelor's orย Master's degree in Business, Finance, Pre-Law, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.ย 

  • Have no more than three years of professional experience.ย 

  • Are intellectually curious about insurance, risk management, and the role claims plays in helping clients navigate complex and meaningful life events.ย 

  • Bring strong analytical, data management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information and make sound decisions.ย 

  • Communicate clearly and build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and business partners.ย

This role includes <25% travel to attendย industry conferences, client meetings,ย client trainingย meetings,ย client auditย meetingsย and underwritingย meetingsย as necessary.ย 

The base salary for this role is $70,000. Candidates with advanced degrees may be eligible for a higherย baseย compensation. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary only and do not include short-term incentives or other benefits offered.ย ย
