Registered Dietitian - Eating Disorders
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient-centered Registered Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary eating disorder treatment team. The ideal candidate will provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to individuals with eating disorders and related conditions, helping patients improve health outcomes, restore nutritional well-being, and enhance quality of life.
This role involves providing individual and group nutrition counseling, collaborating with healthcare providers, contributing to educational and research initiatives, and supporting a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide individual and group medical nutrition therapy through in-person and/or telehealth sessions.
- Assess, evaluate, interpret, monitor, and document patients' nutritional status and needs using evidence-based practice guidelines and established standards of care.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans that support patient goals and recovery.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families on nutrition-related topics using age-appropriate, disease-specific, and culturally responsive approaches.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate and collaborate with primary care providers and specialty care teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Provide coverage for other program dietitians as needed.
Education & Program Development
- Develop, review, update, and implement nutrition education materials for patients and providers.
- Deliver in-service trainings and presentations for healthcare providers and specialists as needed.
- Contribute nutrition-focused blog articles, recipes, and educational content for the company website.
Research & Professional Development
- Participate in outcomes collection and research activities by contributing case studies and patient progress data.
- Stay current on emerging nutrition research, eating disorder treatment approaches, and best practices in dietetics.
- Share clinical insights and research findings with the nutrition team.
- Attend all required trainings, department meetings, and team discussions, actively contributing ideas and feedback.
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete all assigned duties and additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
- Maintain active licensure and professional credentials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Licensed Dietitian (LDN) through the North Carolina Board of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition assessment, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nutrition experience.
