Echo Vascular Technologist

Pay Range: $35.00-$40.00*

Currently, we are seeking an Echo Vascular Technologist for our Cardiology office located in Williamsville and Buffalo, NY! This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday โ€“ Friday, and includes Free Parking!

No nights, weekends, or holidays!

Essential Duties of an Echo Vascular Technologist:

The primary purpose of this position is to perform diagnostic echocardiograms and/or vascular ultrasounds for use by providers in the diagnosis of heart disease and structural abnormalities.

  • Obtain patient health history and diagnosis, take vital signs, and perform an EKG prior to the ultrasound examination.
  • Educate patients on imaging procedures, answer questions within the scope of practice, and obtain patient consent.
  • Obtain quality images by properly positioning the transducer, monitoring the display screen, detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities, and identifying when an IV contrast agent is needed.
  • Properly record information, calculate measurements of the heart wall, chamber size, blood flow direction, and velocity
  • Assist RN with bubble studies and stress echocardiogram testing by performing rest, stress, and recovery echocardiogram images.
  • Create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting provider on the PACS system.
  • Perform vascular ultrasounds including AAA screening, carotid Doppler, upper and lower extremity arterial Doppler, ankle-brachial index test with/without stress, and renal artery Doppler studies.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, in accordance with internal and legal regulations.
  • Maintain echo lab equipment and supplies.
  • Create and monitor the provider reading schedule for the echo lab.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience across the organization.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications of an Echo Vascular Technologist:

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in echocardiogram testing preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to utilize computer programs
