Shift Details: Three 12hr shifts per week Holidays: 2 holidays per year, assigned on rotation Weekends: Every 6th
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 1 is an entry-level RCP. The RCP 1 demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. The RCP 1 performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures in acute care and critical care areas. The RCP 1 demonstrates competency as outlined in the RCP I COT. The RCP 1 focuses on developing critical thinking skills. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Successful completion of all clinical rotations for respiratory therapy program is required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required.
EDUCATON PREFERRED:
Bachelor degree is preferred.
LICENSURE REQUIRED:
State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 18 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire. LICENSURE PREFERRED: American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership is preferred. Advanced certification with crisis de-escalation (MANDT), Hospital HazMat, or special pathogens is preferred.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT:
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within 6 months of hire (CHD only). Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) preferred (CHD only).
