Nurse Manager – PACU
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $160,000 - $172,000

Position Summary
The Nurse Manager – PACU provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for PACU and AMSU Units. This role maintains accountability for the coordination and delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards governing PACU and AMSU services.
The Nurse Manager fosters a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement through staff development, education, and role modeling. Utilizing their expertise, the Nurse Manager ensures seamless, coordinated care for patients as they move through the PACU and AMSU Units.
Responsibilities
Shift / Schedule:
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Key Duties:
  • Clinical & Operational Leadership. Provide leadership and oversight for all PACU operations, ensuring delivery of safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care
  • Patient Experience & Care Coordination. Work directly with the patient care team to identify, investigate, and resolve patient concerns and complaints
  • Staff Leadership & Development. Assess, evaluate, and document staff competency, performance, and ongoing educational needs
  • Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including state regulations and hospital policies. Lead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities
  • Resource & Performance Management. Manage human, financial, and material resources efficiently and responsibly. Participate in budget planning, productivity monitoring, and cost-effective utilization of supplies and equipment
Requirements
Education:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in nursing or related field
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Required: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Skills:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive healthcare management experience, with PACU experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in PACU and AMSU settings
  • Ability to provide 24/7 responsibility, including answering staff calls as needed
  • Working knowledge of PACU/AMSU-related regulatory and accreditation requirements 
  • Proven ability to develop staffing models, schedules, and coverage plans
