Position Overview
The Hyperscale Data Center Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale data center projects for hyperscale clients. This role oversees all aspects of project lifecycle management, including scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client coordination. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise in data center infrastructure, and the ability to manage complex, fast-paced deployments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project management for hyperscale data center builds, expansions, and upgrades
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, construction, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, and material management for critical infrastructure components
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (OSHA, BICSI, etc.)
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact
  • Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and status reporting
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Drive quality assurance and commissioning processes to meet client specifications
  • Support hiring, training, and development of project team members as needed

Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of project management experience, preferably in data centers, telecommunications, or large-scale construction
  • Proven experience managing hyperscale or mission-critical environments
  • Strong understanding of structured cabling, fiber optics, power, cooling systems, and data center infrastructure
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or similar)
  • PMP certification preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • BICSI certification (RCDD or Technician) is a plus

  • The Project Manager must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvements.

  • Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
  • Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to travel to jobsites (as needed) in support of the primary job duties and responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a Company sponsored American Express Card.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Must have experience in customer and General Contractor interactions.
  • Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Must have experience Project Managing large and complex projects (+$1M).
  • Must thrive on managing challenging projects pertaining to scope, schedule, budget.
  • Must enjoy mentoring, guiding, and supporting other Project Managers.
  • Must have experience with formal scheduling Gantt chart tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6, Wrike, Smartsheet, Excel).
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
