Summary
The Reverse Circulation (RC) Driller operates RC drilling rigs to support mineral exploration and mining programs. The role focuses on safe, efficient drilling operations, highquality sample recovery, equipment care, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in often remote work environments.
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling rigs in accordance with site procedures, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct thorough pre-start inspections of drill rigs, compressors, boosters, rods, hammers, and support equipment
  • Perform routine servicing, lubrication, and basic mechanical troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Accurately collar holes and maintain correct drilling angles, depths, and alignment per drilling plans
  • Monitor and adjust drilling parameters such as air pressure, rotation speed, bit wear, and penetration rate to optimize productivity and sample quality
  • Ensure correct sample return, contamination control, and proper setup of cyclones, splitters, and sample bags
  • Maintain accurate drill logs, meters drilled, consumables usage, and daily production reports
  • Identify ground conditions and communicate changes or issues to geologists and supervisors
  • Enforce safe work practices for offsiders and ensure compliance with all HSE requirements
  • Maintain site housekeeping standards around the drill pad and equipment
  • Participate in toolbox talks, pre-shift meetings, safety audits, and ongoing training
  • Respond appropriately to equipment failures, emergencies, or changing site conditions

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an RC Driller in mining or exploration
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of RC drilling techniques
  • Commitment to safety and ability to work extended shifts in remote environments
  • Physically fit and capable of working in varying weather conditions
