As an RBT without certifications, you will likely assist with basic tasks under close supervision, such as preparing materials, observing sessions, and supporting certified RBTs and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with non-clinical duties. Your responsibilities will typically not include implementing behavior intervention plans or direct client therapy, as these require certification. What is an RBT without certifications?

An RBT, or Registered Behavior Technician, is a paraprofessional who implements behavior analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Without certification, they may not meet industry standards or legal requirements in many states, and their roles are typically limited compared to certified RBTs. Employers and clients often require certification to ensure quality and adherence to ethical guidelines in behavior analysis.
