What are RBTs in schools?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) in schools are paraprofessionals who work under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement behavior intervention plans and support students with behavioral or developmental challenges. They assist with teaching social, communication, and academic skills, often working one-on-one or in small groups. RBTs follow specific protocols to help students succeed in the classroom, monitor progress, and collect data on student behavior. Their work is especially valuable for students with autism or other special needs, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of an RBT in school or similar roles, earning $2,000 a day is uncommon and typically associated with high-level positions such as specialized consultants, senior healthcare professionals, or business executives. Most entry-level or support roles, including RBTs, earn significantly less, often hourly or salaried. Achieving such high daily earnings generally requires advanced certifications, extensive experience, or ownership of a business.

How much does a RBT make in a school?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working in schools typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, depending on experience, location, and school district policies. Salaries may also include benefits such as health insurance and paid time off, and RBTs often work part-time or full-time schedules with supervision from Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in a school setting, and why are they important?

To thrive as an RBT in a school, you need a solid understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, an RBT certification, and experience working with children with developmental or behavioral challenges. Familiarity with data collection systems, behavior intervention plans, and electronic documentation tools is essential. Patience, strong communication, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and support staff. These skills ensure effective implementation of behavioral interventions, support student development, and foster a positive learning environment.

Can you be an RBT in schools?

Yes, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) can work in schools to implement behavior intervention plans under supervision. They typically work with students with autism or other developmental disabilities and must complete specific training and certification requirements to be employed in educational settings.

What's the highest paid RBT?

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) typically earn higher salaries with experience, advanced certifications, and working in specialized or high-demand settings. The highest paid RBTs can earn around $20 to $25 per hour, with some earning more in certain regions or with additional responsibilities. Salary growth is often linked to ongoing training and performance.

How does an RBT in a school setting typically collaborate with teachers and other support staff?

As an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) in a school, you will work closely with teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers to implement behavior intervention plans and support students with behavioral needs. Collaboration often involves attending team meetings, sharing data on student progress, and adapting strategies based on input from the classroom teacher or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Job description

Behavior Technician BT – Not just a job. A calling

????Brillion, WI | ???? Full-Time | ???? $17.00–$18.00/hour + $750 Sign-On Bonus

We’re looking for a certain kind of person. They kneel down to a child's eye level. They patiently bring the same positivity to the tenth try as the first. They celebrate a kinda tiny win like it's the biggest thing that happened all week…because for that kid, it might be.

We call them teammates who change lives. And we don't need you to have experience to be one. We’ll teach you the skills. But if this sounds like it might be a fit, here's what walking through our door looks like.

  • Clinical leadership that's actually there You're never on an island. You’ll receive strong clinical mentorship, real career pathways into leadership, and colleagues who treat your expertise like it matters. Because it does.
  • Paid training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), with guidance and support from mentors and peers.
  • A culture that supports you driven by the values of collaboration and shared success, not competition

???? What You’ll Do:

You'll work 1:1 with children ages 18 months to 6 years who have a diagnosis of autism, in a center-based environment. Day to day, that means:

  • Delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), guided by individualized treatment plans
  • Building skills through play, connection, and the kind of presence that helps a child feel safe enough to try
  • Tracking progress and documenting sessions using ABA technology
  • Creating a safe, positive environment for every child you work with
  • Preparing for your RBT certification exam within your first 45 days

???? What We Offer:

  • Competitive Pay
    • No RBT yet? Start at $17.00–$18.00/hour with paid training to become an RBT in 45 days
    • RBT certified? Start at $18/hour, with opportunities to grow to $24.50/hour
  • $750 Sign-On Bonus
  • 401(k) with company match
  • $500 referral bonus
  • Paid time off, holiday pay, mileage reimbursement
  • Full health benefits for full-time team members
  • 1:1 client sessions—no group billing or overwhelming caseloads
  • A career pathway to become a BCBA with our BCBA Rise Scholarship program that provides up to $10,000 in financial support for your Master’s degree

???? What we’re looking for:

  • Full-time availability Monday–Friday, between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliability — showing up for scheduled hours and staying on top of administrative tasks
  • Resilience and compassion, especially on the tough days
  • Interest in psychology, education, healthcare, or human services — experience with children is a plus
  • Ability to obtain RBT certification within 45 days of employment — we'll prepare you
  • Physical readiness for the role: pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds; sitting on the floor, stooping, standing, walking, and moving quickly alongside kids when needed
