RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Front Office Associate, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner.
This is a Temporary/PRN position working various shifts.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00 based on direct and relevant experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(55%) Registration
  1. Greet and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; processes payments and copays as needed
  2. Answer phones and handles calls in an efficient and friendly manner
  3. Field phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members
  4. Act as liaison between imaging technologists and the patients waiting for exams, and relays messages regarding scanner status and other Clinic information
  5. Maintain organization of the front office lobby area and assisting with general office cleanup
  6. Maintain supply of patient information sheets
  7. Complete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patients
  8. Fax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested

(20%) Scheduling
  1. Enter and submit patient exam orders
  2. Verify patient exam orders match exam schedules
  3. Schedule referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
  4. Schedule walk-in patients
  5. Process requests for image orders and CDs from both the referring physicians and patients

(20%) Insurance
  1. Verify patient's insurance coverage
  2. Pre-certify all patient exams with the patient's insurance company
  3. Obtain insurance authorizations
  4. Apply knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain pre-authorization, if needed, prior to patient appointments
  5. Facilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

(5%) Completes other tasks and projects as assigned
Required:
  1. High School Diploma, or equivalent
  2. One (1) year of Customer Service experience
  3. Proficient in using computer systems and typing
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel

Preferred:
  1. Previous medical office experience
  2. Medical terminology and office background
  3. Insurance knowledge
  4. Bilingual
