The Tactical Radars and Effectors Department within the Raytheon Hardware Engineering Team is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Section Lead to support effector products within the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) strategic business unit.

The role is expected to be onsite and based in Tucson, AZ. 

What you Will Do

  • The job responsibilities of this Section Leader position include managing and mentoring engineers LADS programs.

  • The section leader will guide a section of 10-15 engineers. This includes hiring, staffing, performance evaluations, mentoring/coaching, expense reports and timecard approvals.

  • The section leader is also expected to support the programs directly in a technical leadership role.

  • The Section Lead will team with the Department Lead in the execution of Hardware Engineering and Raytheon Engineering goals.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience

  • Prior engineering experience with progressing leadership roles.

  • Experience in hardware engineering design, development, and production support 

  • Leadership experience in frontline or project leader roles 

  • Demonstrated experience leading a technical team, including, but not limited to: role of task lead, IPTL, CPTL, or Engineering Lead.

  • Experience working on products for military applications or challenging environments.

Qualifications We Value: 

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline 

  • Practical experience in all phases of a missile product development lifecycle from concept development through product delivery and support.

  • Technical knowledge of engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) development and release 

  • Technically oriented, self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information. 

  • Experience working with suppliers or production facilities during manufacture and assembly of products 

  • Experience in requirement compliance and product qualification processes 

  • Experience in functional management of engineering teams driving performance, mentorship, knowledge transfer, managing through change, and exhibition of influential leadership. 

  • Ability to lead collaboration and teamwork with both Raytheon, supplier and customer executives. 

  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Estimate to Complete (EAC) processes. 

  • Experience preparing both technical and cost proposals, the ability to critically review proposals, conduct technical presentations and acquire relevant engineering and functional approvals. 

  • Demonstrated track record for working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity working with US Government, DCMA, and/or customers during program development and selloff 

  • Advocate for process improvement team builder, and ability to build strong relationships and partnerships with internal resources.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
