Job description

Description
  • On site supervision of utility laborers involved with preparation of grading terrain, application of fertilizers, seeding and sodding of lawns, transplanting trees, shrubs and mowing lawns.
  • Perform manual labor in maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, and mowing lawns.
  • Provide truck and equipment security and assign tools and equipment.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, coordinate supplies, and make recommendations for needed supplies and equipment.
  • Insure landscape contractor has completed assigned work by performing onsite inspection.
  • Assist in supervision of tree and shrub pruning.
  • Identify and resolve routine employee work problems.
  • Assist in the installation and repair District signage.
  • Assist in determining lawn mowing schedules.
  • Perform recordkeeping associated with work orders.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency).
  • Three years of directly related experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a driving record that meets the District's standard.
  • General knowledge in landscaping and application of fertilizer.
  • General knowledge of the Maintenance Department's organization and operation.
  • Must maintain a Texas Driver's License that meets Dallas ISD standards.
  • Must be able to pass the Dallas ISD random drug test.
