Project Overview:

This project focuses on developing an Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) networking infrastructure for an O-RAN-compatible private 5G network deployment. The initiative includes building and optimizing next-generation networking environments while co-developing UE-side applications and O-RAN radio resource control algorithms in the form of xApps to enhance application performance through cross-layer optimization techniques.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled O-RAN / Private 5G Network Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and optimization of O-RAN-based private 5G networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with O-RAN architecture, RAN optimization, xApps/rApps development, and private 5G deployments. Candidate needs Strong C/C++ programming skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy O-RAN-compatible private 5G networking infrastructure
  • Work on integration and optimization of Open RAN components including CU, DU, and RU
  • Develop and enhance xApps/rApps for radio resource management and performance optimization
  • Collaborate with UE application teams to implement cross-layer optimization techniques
  • Configure and optimize RAN intelligent controller (RIC) functionalities
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of private 5G networks
  • Analyze radio performance metrics, latency, throughput, and QoS parameters
  • Work with virtualization/containerization technologies in cloud-native telecom environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams for system integration and validation
  • Document technical designs, deployment procedures, and test results

Required Skills:

  • 8 years of experience with O-RAN architecture and Open RAN ecosystems
  • Hands-on experience in private 5G network deployment and integration
  • Experience with xApps/rApps development and RIC platforms
  • Knowledge of 5G RAN components including CU, DU, RU, and SMO
  • Experience with telecom networking protocols and wireless communication systems
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or Go programming
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments
  • Understanding of radio resource management, scheduling, and optimization algorithms
  • Experience with performance testing, troubleshooting, and network analytics
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with O-RAN Alliance specifications
  • Knowledge of AI/ML-based RAN optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with UE-side application development
  • Experience with edge computing and MEC environments
  • Exposure to telecom lab testing and simulation tools
  • Experience working in research-oriented or next-generation wireless projects
