Job description

Summary:
This part-time maintenance position performs work functions associated with custodial, groundskeeping and general maintenance tasks at the Bargersville Parks and Recreation properties. Hours of this position will vary depending on the season, events and rentals. Winter hours are primarily weekends based on rentals (approx. 10 hours or less).
What you'll do:
Assist with general maintenance tasks in preparing facilities and grounds for general use by the public as well as scheduled events and activities. These tasks may include:
  • Perform routine cleaning and restocking of public spaces and rental areas including cleaning/sanitizing restrooms and replenishing supplies, picking up litter, and emptying trash containers.
  • Clearing access areas on trails, paths and parking lots and other park properties.
  • Monitor outdoor recreational areas including picnic shelters, trails, parking lots and playgrounds for waste and debris.
  • Rental and event area preparation including mopping floors, setting up and tearing down tables and chairs, moving picnic tables, and checking reservation schedule.
  • Inspects facilities after events/activities by checking general condition of facilities.
  • Remove weeds and brush from park properties and other properties as assigned.
  • Monitor for proper function of displays, lights, locks, doors, sinks and toilets.
  • Utilizes precautionary safety equipment and monitors work environment to ensure safety of other employees, volunteers and the public.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment used in park maintenance such as trucks and UTVs.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
