Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Rail Car Technician - Electrical to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting schematics, performing electrical installations, and conducting continuity inspections. This role requires expertise in wire assembly, connector installation, and compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical schematics and Field Modification Instructions (FMI) to perform tasks accurately.
  • Certification Requirements: Achieve and maintain IPC/620 certification as part of the role.
  • Measurement Proficiency: Use calibrated measuring tools effectively and ensure compliance with calibration expiration dates.
  • Wire Assembly: Measure, cut, and strip wires for connector pin installation.
  • Connector Installation: Install and crimp male and female connector pins and complete wire assemblies in connector blocks.
  • Continuity Inspections: Follow and perform continuity inspections to ensure electrical integrity.
  • Final Assembly Installation: Conduct final assembly installations with precision and adherence to specifications.
  • Compliance and Safety: Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Safety Requirements
  • Must wear the following PPE as required:
    • Safety shoes
    • Bump hats
    • Safety vest (as needed)
  • Must pass the WMATA-required Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Training Safety Rule Test.
Pre-Screening Requirements
