Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The role of the Warehouse Supervisor for the Base locations is to oversee the efficient, safe and high quality operation of the storerooms to ensure delivery of exceptional performance to MBTA Bus and Rail operations and create an engaging work environment for our associates.

Warehouse Supervisor will be expected to learn, fully understand, work within and lead “The Unipart Way” while adopting lean management principles and approach.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of exceptional service to the MBTA Bus and Rail operations
  • Supervise, organize, direct and train employees to deliver high quality services, leading by example and activity engaging employees in the storerooms to deliver all KPIs and levels of customer satisfaction, quality, delivery and cost, driving the operation toward customer excellence
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team to ensure proper coverage of all storeroom locations at all times, meet volume demands and manage the flow and quality of the work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
  • Monitor and manage the departmental goals to deliver service improvement and efficiency
  • Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety, and Security requirements are met by complying with MBTA and Group policies and procedures and all relevant legal regulations
  • Maintain a safe, healthy & secure work environment by establishing, following and enforcing Unipart standards and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in company policies and handbook to ensure compliance, holding all associates accountable
  • Ensure Customer Service requests are responded to and resolved with SLA requirements and through the proper channels
  • Prepare and lead daily and weekly team briefings utilizing the Communications Cell (Comm Cell), encouraging suggestions, identification of goals and achievement of objectives ensuring regular and effective two way communication.
  • Develop and implement action plans to rectify any off-target KPI and SLA performance, proving relevant and timely updates of progress to key stakeholders
  • Utilize visual management tools and ensure they are being used effectively to drive business decisions
  • Establish a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection and onboarding of employees into the operations
  • Responsible for accurate time keeping records of staff on weekly basis, including ensuring Company policies are adhered to at all times.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of previous supervisory experience
  • 5 years of Warehouse and Distribution experience, specifically around Inventory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Oracle or SAP Preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility to achieve desired results and KPIs
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to deal with conflict and maintain a engaged and productive work environment ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

  • Ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours to meet operating needs of the business
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
