Job description

Palantir Foundry RAG App Engineer

Location: Rosslyn, VA (hybrid)

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a skilled Palantir Foundry RAG App Engineer to support a federal client in designing, building, and deploying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications within Palantir Foundry.

In this role, you will help transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data into secure, accurate, and actionable insights through AI-enabled workflows, ontology-driven modeling, and scalable Foundry application development. You will collaborate with mission, technical, and analytics teams to deliver high-impact solutions that reduce manual effort, improve portfolio transparency, and modernize how federal teams interact with their data.


What You’ll Do

As a Palantir Foundry RAG App Engineer, you will:

  • Partner with team members to develop RAG applications in Palantir Foundry, including data ingestion, ontology mapping, feature engineering, and prompt-driven retrieval logic
  • Build intuitive, role-specific applications and workflows using AIP, Code Repositories, and Foundry App Builder
  • Enable users to “chat with their data” and quickly surface mission-critical insights
  • Design and maintain secure, governed data pipelines aligned with enterprise standards
  • Ensure traceability, data quality, and model performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope use cases, translate mission needs into technical requirements, and deliver solutions that integrate seamlessly into team workflows
  • Apply Foundry platform best practices, including ontology design principles, to build scalable and maintainable AI-enabled products
  • Contribute to reusable engineering patterns, documentation, and templates for RAG application development

Schedule & Shift Details
  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Hybrid support for federal operations in Rosslyn, VA

Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience in data science
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLM prompting techniques, and vector-based search
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience supporting Agile application development
  • Experience building applications or workflows in Palantir Foundry, including data connections, ontology modeling, App Builder, or AIP workflows
  • Proficiency in Python or equivalent languages for data transformation and model integration
  • Experience deploying AI-enabled applications into production or mission operational environments
  • Experience supporting data ingestion, transformation, and pipeline orchestration within enterprise data platforms
  • Experience working with code repositories, version control, or collaborative development workflows
  • Ability to translate ambiguous problem statements into well-scoped technical solutions
  • Strong communication skills and comfort partnering with technical and mission stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • TypeScript knowledge
  • Experience developing applications for federal missions or secure environments
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows or advanced AIP capabilities
