Description
Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a statewide leader in commercial skilled trade services, delivering high-quality electrical, mechanical, and plumbing solutions throughout California. We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Purchasing Department. This role is responsible for processing data entry, maintaining accurate purchasing records, and providing administrative support to help ensure efficient day-to-day departmental operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and highly attentive to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with commercial plumbing materials and supplies is highly preferred.
Schedule
  • Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter and maintain purchasing data in company databases and audit systems
  • Audit reports, verify purchase orders, and track deliveries to ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the wholesale purchasing team
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of orders, pricing, and inventory updates
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, service technicians, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and address purchasing-related inquiries
  • Monitor outstanding orders and follow up on pending items to ensure timely completion
  • Assist with departmental projects and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements
  • Previous administrative, purchasing, or data entry experience within the construction industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing materials, supplies, and terminology highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel a
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM alphanumerically
  • Proficient in proofreading and auditing with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, service technicians, and internal departments
