Mammography Technologist / Womenโs Imaging Department
Job Description
A leading healthcare organization in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join its Womenโs Imaging team in a hospital-based and outpatient imaging setting.
This is a full-time day shift opportunity with flexible 8-hour or 9-hour shift options, manageable patient volumes, and a supportive breast imaging team. The department is patient-centered, quality-driven, and offers opportunities to expand skills in diagnostic mammography, breast biopsy procedures, and additional womenโs imaging services.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams while ensuring proper patient positioning and image quality.
- Support breast imaging procedures, including diagnostic exams and breast biopsy procedures.
- Maintain compliance with MQSA, FDA, radiation safety, and department quality standards.
- Complete quality control testing, documentation, and required imaging records accurately.
- Work with PACS and RIS systems to manage imaging workflow, documentation, and exam tracking.
- Follow ALARA principles and infection control protocols to support patient and staff safety.
- Communicate clearly with patients throughout the imaging process to provide a comfortable, professional experience.
- Collaborate with radiologists, imaging leadership, and clinical staff in a high-quality womenโs imaging environment.
Schedule
- Full-time day shift position.
- 8-hour or 9-hour shifts available.
- Shift options may include:
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- No call required.
- No more than 1 Saturday per month, typically 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- One evening shift per week may be required, generally until 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography, R.
- Current ARRT certification in Mammography, M.
- Active Texas Medical Board license.
- Must remain compliant with MQSA requirements, including continuing education and regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of MQSA regulations and FDA compliance standards.
- Experience performing diagnostic mammography exams.
- Competency with QC testing and documentation.
- Familiarity with PACS and RIS systems.
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices and ALARA principles.
- Strong patient care, communication, and image optimization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of mammography experience preferred.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered if they have strong clinical skills and the right fit.
- Experience with breast biopsy procedures preferred.
- Experience in a high-volume hospital or outpatient imaging setting preferred.
Orientation and Training
Orientation is structured based on each technologistโs experience level and demonstrated skill set. The first week typically focuses on system and workflow orientation. A competency assessment and sign-off will be required before independent workflow, and orientation length may be adjusted based on proficiency.
