Radiologic Technologist

Who We Are UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. UCI Health is comprised of its main campus, UCI Medical Center, a 459-bed, acute care hospital in Orange, Calif., four hospitals and affiliated physicians of the UCI Health Community Network in Orange and Los Angeles counties and ambulatory care centers across the region. Listed among America's Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for 23 consecutive years, UCI Medical Center provides tertiary and quaternary care and is home to Orange County's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, high-risk perinatal/neonatal program and American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center, gold level 1 geriatric emergency department and regional burn center. UCI Health serves a region of nearly 4 million people in Orange County, western Riverside County and southeast Los Angeles County.

Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Position assists the interventional radiologist, cardiologist, vascular surgeon, or other physicians as assigned in the performance of minimally invasive and invasive fluoroscopic guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Procedures consist of complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, including cardiovascular, electrophysiology, endovascular, and neurological interventions. The technologist is responsible for pre-procedural set-up, operating various radiology and support equipment, sterile field, scrub, and circulating assistance during the procedure. The technologist is responsible for image archive management and appropriate documentation for the purpose of supply management, billing, and procedural documentation. The technologist assumes responsibility for ancillary tasks/duties associated with the delivery of high-quality, safe, cost-efficient patient care. The technologist assists attending physicians, fellows, clinical nurses, and CVTs with all aspects of the procedure. By the nature of this position, the technologist has access to medications and contract solutions associated with the delivery of direct patient care. He/she participates in the training of less senior radiologic technologists and students.

What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications: Must support the academic nature of the organization engaging in and supporting the teaching role and research. Must maintain a high level of decorum to maintain the collegial team approach needed to operate in this environment. Must be available to work evenings, nights and/or weekends. Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedules Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year in a Special Procedure Radiology Setting or Cardiac Cath Lab Setting Current BLS certification CRT license/certification CDHP Radiologic Technologist Fluroscopy permit Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment ARRT license/certification ACLS certification upon hire Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and practice of hemodynamic monitoring, pressures wave forms, EKG and radiology imaging Experience working in more than one specialized radiology setting (CT, MRI, etc.) Experience with electrophysiology procedures Experience in a wide array of interventional technology and possible applications as well as current generation fixed fluoroscopic equipment, 3D and virtual CT capabilities, and post processing Bilingual Preferred Bachelor Degree in Radiation Science Advanced ARRT Certification in Cardiac and/ or Vascular Interventional Radiography
