Local Market Promotions Coordinator || Redding Cluster & Air Talent

The Local Market Promotion Coordinator (โ€œPCโ€), under the supervision of the Redding Cluster Operations Manager (โ€œOMโ€) and Market Manager (โ€œMMโ€), will participate in the planning, support and execution of cluster and station promotions*, the purpose of which may include any combination of:

  • Programming Department initiatives for the development of audience relationships,
  • Sales Department revenue-generating or revenue-related marketing relationships,
  • Regional or Market (Cluster level) revenue-generating on-site or on-line events.

The term โ€˜promotionโ€™, for purposes of this document, will broadly encompass any/all of the following activities: physically staged events, personality appearances, listener engagement, marketing outreach, certain identified business to business relationships, broadcasts and internet-based media initiatives.

The Promotion Coordinator at Results Radio supports the Promotions, Programming, and Sales Departments in planning, coordinating, and executing events and promotions.

The PC will be the day-to-day lead for logistical tasks and execution of Cluster promotional activities including, but not limited to, timely internal electronic and paper-based communications with staff and management, event setup/takedown, resource management and storage, promotional fulfillment, file-making and upkeep and errands.

The PC will be responsible to execute the following daily and weekly activities:
  • Ongoing, daily communication of objectives and progress with the Cluster OM and MM.
  • Perform as the primary Promotion Assistant (โ€œPAโ€) for station remotes, live broadcasts, and appearances.
  • Recommend appropriate/necessary scheduling of additional PAs to OM.
  • Execute communications regarding staff scheduling of on-air and on-site personnel for remote broadcasts and events.
  • Updating and distribution of Cluster Promotion Calendar to OM-approved distribution list.
  • Preparation for and attendance in weekly Cluster promotion meeting, including but not limited to maintenance of vCreative database.
  • Preparation for and attendance in Cluster Project meetings.
  • Preparation for, attendance and constructive participation in weekly individual station programming meetings, as requested.
  • Participation as directed by OM and MM in preparation and maintenance of Event and Promotion Budget Planners.
  • Lead staff in Execution and quality control coordination of appearance setup/strike, production, and broadcast materials (copy points/prize package/etc.).
  • Maintenance and appearance of station vehicles.
  • Oversight and quality assurance of maintenance for all promotions-related equipment including remote systems and visibility tools to ensure optimal working condition.
  • Assist in social media and website updating and maintenance of sales promotions elements as directed by the MM or OM.
  • Winner prize redemption support for the OM and Station Program Director(s) (โ€œPD(s)โ€).
  • Assist OM and MM in organization, updating, and maintenance of contest archives including winner forms, prize closets, affidavits, related records, and customer service.
  • Manage Public Service Announcement (PSA) customer service and execution, including on-air scheduling, community calendars, and follow-up correspondence with community organizations.
Additional Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Must have ability to learn and become proficient with computer hardware and software sufficient to complete all job-related assignments, including: Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have ability to learn and become proficient with software programs, including, but not limited to: vPromotion, Canva, Adobe Audition, Specialty Data Systems and other Company licensed software
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driverโ€™s License and be insurable by Company.
  • Must possess and maintain a personal auto insurance policy that meets the Companyโ€™s required minimum coverage.
  • Must be able to carry/lift remote and appearance equipment (40 lbs.)
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and work effectively with company colleagues.
  • Must demonstrate effective writing and communication skills in execution of, including but not limited to, internal Company communications, external communications when directed, participation in meetings (in-person and virtual) and in digital/online presentations.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail.
  • Must be reliable: to be on time, to meet commitments, to do what you say youโ€™ll do.
  • Must maintain a neat and groomed personal appearance.
  • Must have ability to set up tents, banners, signs as trained and directed.
  • Must have ability to set up electronics, staging, and signage as trained and directed.
  • Must be available to work events that may be scheduled seasonally on some evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Must have ability to learn and become proficient in Social Media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, โ€œXโ€ and TikTok.
  • Fill in for reception office post and answering phones.
  • The PC may work alongside academic program-credit Interns, pursuant to the Companyโ€™s local Cluster guidelines.
  • Any other assignments reasonably assigned to the PC by the MM, OM, or the SVP.
Air Talent Requirements & Responsibilities:
  • Perform a tracked KNCQ weekend program.
  • Attend assigned station programming team meeting
  • Be available for aircheck and coaching with assigned station Program Director.
  • Prepare and post social media and web page update, as assigned during KNCQ show hours.
  • Preparation for and fulfillment of promotional and publicity activities, as directed.
  • Must follow Company guidelines in fulfilling all aspects of promotional and sales-remote appearances, including dress and personal grooming.

The immediate supervisor of the Redding Cluster Promotion Coordinator will be the Redding Cluster OM. Close co-ordination is expected between Employee and all Company personnel, with particular emphasis on communications and co-operation with the Cluster MMs, OMs, PDs, PAs and all Engineering and Business Office personnel.
