Job description

Work Modality: Hybrid

Position Overview

Weโ€™re seeking a junior or a skilled RF IC Design Engineer. In this role you will be working alongside experienced design engineers to develop high-performance RF components and ICs, ranging from 20 MHz to 30 GHz. The work will include concept and feasibility studies, design and development of RF/MMIC circuit blocks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and evaluate Radio Frequency Components and Solutions, as parts of a complete TX and RX chains or as standalone devices, for communications purposes.
  • Simulate with 2D and 3D software environment Radio Frequency parts or components.
  • Design Schematic Capture and Layout.
  • Design Evaluation or Breadboard for analysis and verification.
  • Design Testing and Validation of the Radio Frequency components or devices.
  • Product characterization, define and analyze data and behavior.
  • Package, Thermal Analysis.
  • EMI-EMC considerations and protection systems.
  • Document design specifications, implementation details, and test procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing documentation of products and design information.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and crossโ€‘functional teams.
  • Provide progress/technical updates to the engineering manager, technical authority or project manager as necessary.
  • Provide input into the project management plan, notably with timescale estimation and technical risk identification.
  • Preparation of material for phase reviews.
  • Contribute to peer design reviews.
  • Leadership of small teams and projects as required.
  • Field trials support.
  • Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company policies, processes and practices.
  • Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct.
  • Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Honors Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Masterโ€™s degree preferred, however experience is important and will be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.
  • Extensive and proven experience in Radio Frequency components design and testing.
  • Knowledge of Power Amplifiers, LNAs, Active Mixers, Couplers and Combiners.
  • Software tools: experience with at least one of the following, AWR, ADS, HFSS, CST.
  • Experience of RF system design.
  • S parameter design and measurement methods and Matching techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic Analog Bias and control circuits and their impact on overall RF system.
  • EM (Electromagnetic) modeling of High Frequency Circuits.
  • Excellent problemโ€‘solving skills and attention to detail.
  • System engineering, requirements capture, requirements analysis, requirements decomposition and requirements management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills, such as time management and prioritizing.
  • Proficient in the use of standard MS Office tools, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio.
  • Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking.
