Job description

Hourly Pay Range:
$26.42 - $40.95 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Interventional Procedures Assistant, Interventional Radiology
  • Location: Evanston Hospital with rotation to Highland Park Hospital
  • Hours: Day shift (7:30 am start), must be able to commit to a full day (2 or more days)
  • On Call: Rotating on-call responsibility (includes weekends), Must be able to report to Evanston and Highland Park within 45 minutes for on-call shifts

What you will need:
  • Experience: Ideal candidate will be currently enrolled (or in immediate future) in Rad Tech program, pursuing AART
  • Certifications: CPR - Basic Life Support, AHA
  • Ability to report to Evanston Hospital within 45 minutes for on-call shifts

What you will do:
  • Performs a combination of tasks/skills pre, during, and after the IR procedure to assist the procedural team (physicians, registered nurses and radiologic technologists).
  • Prepares both sterile and nonsterile equipment, catheters, and technology utilized pre, intra, and post procedure
  • Performs as a scrub assist aiding the physician and Radiology Technologist in circulating the procedure, setting up equipment, obtaining the necessary equipment needed for the procedure, open product as needed and dropping onto sterile table.
  • Assist physician in obtaining vascular access (femoral, radial, brachial, jugular, peripheral, and transseptal), central venous line placement, and drain placement.
  • Responsible for supply management and restocking of supplies
  • The functional demands of the job are medium, requiring high energy level. Activity level throughout the work day; lift and carry 40-50 lbs., push/ pull +/- 150 - 200 lbs
