Data Center Network Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Center Network Technician to support the deployment, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure within a large-scale enterprise data center environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, rack and stack activities, hardware installation, and network troubleshooting. This role requires working in a fast-paced, mission-critical data center environment supporting network expansion, infrastructure deployments, migrations, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, rack, stack, and cable network equipment within data center environments.
  • Deploy switches, routers, servers, and related network hardware.
  • Perform fiber optic and copper cabling installations and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot physical network connectivity issues.
  • Support network deployment, migration, and upgrade projects.
  • Install and maintain patch panels and structured cabling systems.
  • Manage work orders and tickets through established workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform cable tracing, labeling, testing, and documentation.
  • Maintain hardware inventory and deployment records.
  • Follow data center operational, safety, and security procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician, Network Technician, Network Deployment Technician, Cable Technician, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Fiber Optic installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CAT5e and CAT6 cabling.
  • Structured Cabling experience.
  • Rack & Stack experience.
  • Patch Panel installation and maintenance.
  • Hardware installation and deployment experience.
  • Network troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
  • Experience working in a data center environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista networking equipment.
  • Smart Hands support experience.
