Data Center Field Installations Technician (L2)

Location: Ashburn, VA (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract (3+ Months with Extension)
Client: NTT (Supporting Google Hi-Fiber Data Center Project)
Job Summary

NTT is seeking experienced Data Center Field Installations Technicians (L2) to support the Google Hi-Fiber Data Center build project in Ashburn, VA.

This hands-on role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in data center installations, structured cabling, fiber optics, rack & stack, and hardware deployment.


Responsibilities

  • Lead rack build and deployment activities
  • Perform Rack & Stack of servers, storage, and networking equipment
  • Install, route, terminate, and label fiber and copper cabling
  • Perform fiber testing and troubleshooting
  • Install and validate PDUs and power connections
  • Read rack layouts, schematics, and installation documentation
  • Support cooling system installations (DX and Direct-to-Chip Liquid Cooling)
  • Perform hardware validation, BIOS checks, and basic OS installation
  • Conduct quality inspections and installation audits
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and support junior technicians
  • Follow all safety standards and data center procedures


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Data Center installation experience
  • Strong structured cabling experience (fiber and copper)
  • Experience with cable pulling inside Data Centers
  • Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience
  • Rack & Stack experience
  • Ability to interpret rack layouts and technical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Skills

  • Fluke tester experience
  • PDU installation
  • BIOS and hardware validation
  • OS imaging or deployment experience
  • Experience supporting Google, AWS, Microsoft, Meta, or other hyperscale Data Centers

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work onsite in Ashburn, VA
