Job description

Position Description

Rachel Contracting is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Renewable Energy Superintendent, with project assignments primarily located throughout the Midwest and Central United States.

Rachel Contracting is a specialty site-work contractor performing earthwork, demolition and utilities primarily in the Midwest/Central US region. Our team welcomes individuals who are passionate about their work and committed to delivering quality workmanship with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform site grading and oversee civil construction activities for industrial, solar, and wind energy projects, including road improvements and maintenance, drainage systems, dewatering, soil stabilization, foundation excavation and backfill, utilities, and other necessary site improvements.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to plan and execute work, interpret project specifications, and coordinate multiple phases of construction to ensure timely project completion.
  • Monitor work in progress to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and construction schedules through regular communication with the Project Manager and General Superintendent.
  • Manage and lead a field workforce of approximately 5 to 25 team members, including equipment operators and laborers.
  • Support the Project Manager in material procurement, scheduling, and project documentation to maintain project efficiency.
  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure all personnel comply with established safety standards and project requirements.
Position Requirements Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively in challenging and dynamic environments
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple operations and priorities simultaneously
  • Commitment to fostering and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive with strong follow-through
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Participate in travel as required to support project needs.
