Summary

The chemical Equipment & Quoting Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for chemical processing equipment, systems, and related components. This role bridges technical expertise with customer-facing communication, ensuring clients receive well-defined proposals that meet their operational, safety, and regulatory needs. The specialist collaborates closely with engineering, sales, procurement, and vendors to gather specifications, evaluate requirements, and deliver high-quality commercial proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quotations for chemical processing equipment, including pumps, tanks, mixers, filtration systems, instrumentation, and custom-engineered solutions.

  • Interpret customer specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and RFQs to determine appropriate equipment selections.

  • Calculate pricing, lead times, and cost structures using internal tools, vendor quotes, and historical data.

  • Ensure all quotes comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams regarding equipment capabilities, materials of construction, chemical compatibility, and application suitability.

  • Assist in sizing and selecting equipment based on process conditions, flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and chemical properties.

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to validate custom or complex equipment configurations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for quote-related inquiries. o Request and evaluate vendor pricing, technical documentation, and lead times.

  • Communicate clearly with customers to clarify requirements, resolve discrepancies, and support the sales process.

  • Maintain accurate records of quotes, revisions, and supporting documents. Update CRM and ERP systems with pricing, configurations, and customer information.

  • Support continuous improvement of quoting tools, templates, and workflows.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in; Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with chemical processing equipment, industrial equipment sales, or technical quoting.

  • Strong understanding of chemical compatibility, materials of construction, and process equipment fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of corrosion-resistant materials, polymers, and specialty alloys.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.

  • Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Work Environment

  • Office-based role with regular interaction with engineering, sales, and vendor teams.

  • Occasional customer site visits or vendor facility visits may be required.

  • Standard business hours with flexibility during peak quoting periods.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $70,250.00 and $103,026.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
