Job description

Rooms Control Coordinator

The Rooms Control Coordinator will work in partnership with Front Desk, Housekeeping, and other operational departments with a focus on managing the hotel's room inventory to maximize revenue pertaining to guestrooms.

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Daily tasks to include blocking the house, managing queue rooms and communication related to queue rooms, managing traces, as well as late check-out and early check-in requests
  • Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking guestrooms and balancing room types to enhance revenue opportunities over the next 120 days
  • Ensure inventory across the Property Management System (Opera) is in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances
  • Block VIPs into upgraded room types while allocating the proper number of rooms to be reserved for upgrades performed by the front desk that generate revenue
  • Block Suites and Q/Q two Months Out
  • Manage Out of Order and Out of Service rooms' inventory, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk, and updating the Revenue Management team

What you bring:

  • Ensure group inventory is managed accordingly, down to the room type level
  • Blocking VIPs/Elite/High Rates/Suites 2 weeks out
  • Blocking holes (1 night holes & 2 night holes) with occupancy 80% or higher
  • Blocking all Guest Preference Rooms 2 weeks out (HF, LF, NE, QR, or specific room/location preference)
  • Blocking Group reservations to a specific area where the event will be and adding comments/DNMs to ensure Guests are strategically placed in locations
  • Adding notes to Group reservations, noting contracted rates for different room categories for upsell potential
  • Blocking comp upgrades for Preferred Partner, Virtuoso, American Express, HRG
  • Provide a daily count of rooms available for upsell and track daily for history
  • Review and confirm that upsellable rooms are properly noted in reservations
  • Any task as assigned by ADOR or DOR
  • Proficient in the following software programs: Opera, Hotsos, Golden Key, and Chat.
