Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is actively seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you'll work directly alongside leading aerospace customers, turning complex technical challenges into innovative gas turbine component designs that make a real impact. If you enjoy collaborating with customers, influencing technical decisions, and working across multiple engine programs, this role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with trusted technical partnership.
You'll become the face of QDSS for our customers, building relationships, understanding program needs, and delivering engineering solutions from concept through implementation.
Location: 100% onsite in Cincinnati, OH
Due to the nature of this work, applicants must be US Citizens.

What You'll Do
  • Partner directly with aerospace customers to understand technical challenges and develop practical engineering solutions
  • Serve as a trusted engineering consultant throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Design and develop gas turbine engine components including rotating hardware, structural components, and airfoils
  • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable, high-performance designs
  • Perform design analysis using NX and ANSYS to validate component performance
  • Evaluate new design concepts, materials, manufacturing methods, and product improvements
  • Present technical recommendations during customer and program design reviews
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, stress, systems, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Support engineering investigations, non-conformance assessments, and design improvements
  • Balance performance, durability, manufacturability, cost, and certification requirements throughout the design process

Required Skills
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience designing gas turbine or turbomachinery components
  • Experience with NX and ANSYS (Classic or Workbench)
  • Understanding of GD&T and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Project management experience is a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
  • Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
  • Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
