Job description

Riggs Industries is looking for a Business Development Specialist to promote the capabilities of our full-service industrial fabrication and construction firm serving various industries including power, energy, waste management, mining, quarry and aggregates, public works, defense, and other commercial steel construction, in the mid-Atlantic region which includes Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Proactively identifies and pursues qualified business opportunities through market research, RFI/RFQ response, networking, and prospecting
  • Develops and executes sales and marketing strategy as a member of the management team and delivers agreed sales KPI's
  • Develops business relationships, facilitates proposal development, manages resources, coordinates detailed documentation
  • Manages marketing agency to develop compelling, customer-centric marketing resources (brochures, websites, digital content, promotional materials, trade show staging, etc.)
  • Gives presentations to prospective and existing customers
  • Analyzes and evaluates contract performance from initial award to close.
  • Manages new customer relationships and maintains consistent customer service while transitioning new business to project managers
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CM software
  • Attends trade shows and represents Riggs at various trade groups.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Proposal Coordinator

Education and/or Experience:
  • Four-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience developing business in the industrial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in structural engineering or construction project management
