Job description

Summary:

The Radiology Technician at The Animal Medical Center is responsible for operating radiology equipment and ensuring the safety and comfort of all animal patients during their procedures. This role requires adherence to safety policies and effective communication with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently abide by all radiation safety policies and procedures as determined by The Animal Medical Center and OSHA
  • Operate Quantum X-ray machines and PAC's system
  • Appropriately restrain patients with concern for their safety and your own during radiographs and ultrasounds
  • Ensure cleanliness and comfort of patients while in radiology
  • Communicate changes in patient's behavior and voids to doctors and technicians
  • Greet clients, transport patients to and from radiology
  • Maintain cleanliness of radiology department and 2nd floor corridor
  • Perform accurate record keeping and data entry including client charges
  • Assist in ICU/ES with patients, cleaning, restocking, etc.
  • Assist with admits, transfers, and discharge of patients
  • Maintain excellent working relationships between Radiology and other departments
  • Maintain excellent communication with the veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years work experience, preferably in a similar position
  • Animal handling experience and ability to restrain all species
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team
  • Ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed protocols
  • Ability to neatly and correctly fill out paperwork as necessary
Pay Range
$17.30—$22.55 USD
