NorthStar Energy Solutions is hiring! The Assistant Project Manager – Transmission is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of projects, including assisting with schedules, budgets, and project documentation. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to ensure all project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with scope and schedule requirements. This position may include extended hours, travel to project sites, and working in varying field conditions.


Project Scheduling & Coordination

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules for transmission projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams during project mobilization and execution.

Estimating & Documentation

  • Support estimators with take-offs, submittals, and proposal preparation.
  • Draft, track, and submit Requests for Information (RFIs); participate in client and internal project meetings.

Project Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain logs of project updates, resource delays, and permitting or Right-of-Way progress.
  • Prepare regular status reports for leadership and clients, highlighting risks, barriers, and progress.

Team & Administrative Support

  • Provide direct support to Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure project workflows remain on track.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to complete timesheets, expense reports, invoices, and procurement documentation.

Equipment & Materials Management

  • Track project equipment (rentals, breakdowns, relocations) and maintain accurate logs.
  • Support procurement and delivery of construction consumables and materials to field sites.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic field and office environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency, with experience in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of billing processes, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites, as needed.
