Major Duties

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Institutional Research, the Enrollment Analytics Developer contributes to campus-wide enrollment planning and student success initiatives. The incumbent designs and develops structured datasets, dashboards, and predictive models that support enrollment target setting, course planning, and registration forecasting.

  • Develops, maintains, and validates structured data products and models that support institutional enrollment reporting and planning. Supports the production of internal and external enrollment reports, dashboards, and analysis files. Ensures consistency with census and CSU reporting standards.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, visualizations, and backend data sources related to registration, student flow, and instructional capacity. Ensures data assets are reliable and regularly refreshed.
  • Responds to regularly occurring data requests and supports customized analyses as needed by Academic Affairs and other areas. Translates data requests into repeatable processes where possible.
  • Designs and maintains analytic views, stored queries, and logic for derived student and course-level data across IR systems. Participates in quality assurance and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Bachelor's in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Quantitative Social Science is highly desirable.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of full-time experience in data analytics or institutional research.
  • Familiarity with federal and state data collection/reporting systems.
  • Experience with campus Student Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft Campus Solutions).
  • Predictive modeling experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and data modeling, including the ability to develop, validate, and maintain structured datasets aligned with institutional reporting standards.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QuickSight) with demonstrated capability to create, maintain, and regularly refresh dashboards and backend data sources related to student enrollment and institutional capacity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to efficiently respond to data requests, deliver customized analyses, and translate recurring inquiries into sustainable, automated processes. Strong data interpretation, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent technical documentation and quality assurance practices, including experience designing analytic views, stored queries, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of student and course-level data systems.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: 0404 / Data Analytics Developer II / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $6492 - $8398 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $6492 - $9458 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
