Job description

Summary: This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing quality programs designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards.

Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:

  • Formulate and maintain quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Manage, hire, lead, motivate and train the Quality Department in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Exhibit confidence in self and staff. Resolve interdepartmental issues, accept feedback and give recognition.
  • Interpret quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Provide computerized status reports describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and or other items related to the quality of the process, material or product.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
  • Plan and oversee the analysis, inspection, test and integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component.
  • Perform quality-engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Review data obtained during quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
  • Prepare and present technical and program information to the Management team.
  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Use the following software/ programs when performing this job: MAC-PAC, Order Processing, Inventory Systems, Design, Internet, Project Management, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and Visio.
  • Fulfill the role of Environmental Management Representative to include the responsibility of conducting Management reviews and to keep Management informed on the performance of the environmental system.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 continuous improvement.
  • Manage returns analysis and reporting.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Recommended Education and/or Experience

Bachelors Degree in a related field; or minimum five years related experience; or combination of education and related experience.
