Job Description
Victaulic is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality initiatives at the Atlanta Manufacturing Facility. This role is crucial in developing, maintaining, and executing our Quality Management System (QMS) and quality control plans in line with ISO 9001 standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and metal fabrication, with hands-on experience in arc welding processes and fabrications for various metals. Key responsibilities include overseeing supplier management, conducting audits and inspections, providing production quality support, and leading a team of QA personnel. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Management: Develop, maintain, and execute the Quality Management System (QMS) and quality control plans in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain material test reports (MTR), certificates of conformance (COC), and other necessary documentation.
  • Calibration Program: Oversee the instrument testing and calibration program for all measuring equipment.
  • Supplier Management: Provide oversight to the Supplier Management Program, including qualification and management of suppliers and resolution of quality issues.
  • Audits and Inspections: Facilitate audits of supplier manufacturing and quality systems, oversee incoming material inspections, and manage product testing and audits.
  • Production Support: Provide quality support to production, manage product quality assurance programs, and sign off on product releases.
  • Process Improvement: Develop method sheets, perform in-process inspections, and coordinate off-site testing as required.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead QA personnel, develop job competencies, and assist with training and certification of QA personnel and facility welders.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain customer product certification and inspection activities, and interact with customer representatives as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years hands on experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Education & Experience: Technical college degree or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing/metal fabrication environment.
  • Quality Management: Working knowledge of manufacturing quality management systems and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Welding & Fabrication: Hands-on experience with arc welding processes and fabrications for carbon, stainless, and alloy metals.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, knowledge of liquid and powder coatings, and familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards, and AWS/ASME welding codes.
  • Certifications: Preferred credentials include CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), and Lean Manufacturing methodology certification.
  • NDT Skills: Ability to perform or learn NDT evaluations such as dye-penetrant, magnetic particle, and dry film thickness.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work independently and efficiently. Team building and development skills are essential.
