Title: Safety Supervisor

Reports to: Sr Safety Director

About the Role

The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for training and administer Train and administer the Company safety, health and accident prevention program and ensure all employees have a safe environment in which to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the Company safety program; implement and coordinate safety and health activities.
  • Able to conduct safety training classes; safety certification classes and maintain all related records.
  • Monitor and evaluate training programโ€™s effectiveness, success and periodically report on them.
  • Able to review accidents and incidents, take corrective action as needed and make recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Analyze inspection findings to determine the need for employee safety training.
  • Recommend safety equipment to be used or worn; coordinate with safety committees and the purchasing departments concerning the purchase, storage and issuance of approved safety equipment and products for employees.
  • Able to coordinate fleet safety programs; keep current on new trends and methods in accident prevention field; keep current on OSHA reports and standards.
  • Able to analyze all loss data to determine causes of injuries; develop trend analysis and statistical summary of accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct studies concerning the interest and need for safety training programs; administer safety awareness awards program.
  • Able to attend and participate in professional safety organization projects.
  • Able to supervise and administer safety, first aid and rescue squad activities including work assignments, personnel administration, staffing, training, etc.
  • Able to review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Safety Director.
Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelorโ€™s degree inSafety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum 3 yearssafetyrelated experience or field related experience in the underground construction industry.
  • OSHA 30 Construction required.
  • Possession of a valid class A or C California driver's license
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of applicablesafetyregulations, regulatory requirement and industry standards for construction and general industry; knowledge of EPA, DOT and NEPA standards.
  • Experience in high voltage utility construction a plus
