Job description

Job Summary
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.
As a Program Manager on the MQ-9B India Program, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and managing of engineering development program(s) from initiation through delivery. You will utilize your strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, to lead technical teams and subcontractors in the successful development of customer specific capabilities through hardware, software and test while providing solutions to a variety of programmatic challenges.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the end-to-end program lifecycle from conceptualization to completion, overseeing acquisition, planning, and technical performance to meet quality, financial, and business objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Work closely with teams across various departments, including engineering, test and operations, to ensure that all elements of the program are delivered as planned.
  • Manage/Facilitate the generation of Statements of Work (SOW's) and Purchase Orders (PO's) that accurately reflect the scope of work and support as primary Program Management Office (PMO) interface with Subcontract Management.
  • Manage potential risks, proactively addressing issues and escalating when necessary. Track dependencies, issues, and changes to keep the program on track.
  • Develop detailed project plans, manage schedules, and allocate resources effectively to ensure program milestones are met.
  • Monitor program budgets, track expenditures, and ensure that financial targets are met while maintaining program quality.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management, stakeholders, and team members on program status, risks, and issues.
  • Create, present, and deliver program reports, presentations, and other communication materials to support design milestone and program management reviews.
  • Drive process improvements within the program management function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and program success.
  • Interact with internal and external representatives at various levels concerning resolution of technical and scheduling issues.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering, science or a related technical field as well as eleven or more years of progressively complex program administration experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System requirements and metrics is a must.
  • Experience working on Foreign Military Sales or Direct Commercial Sales programs.
  • Experience with management of hardware and/or software development programs.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and application of program management principles, concepts, and practice as well as program management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Must be able to design and implement cross-functional technical solutions that align with program requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively, driven by a customer-focused approach, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
