Job description

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying, quantifying, and eliminating plant wastes and losses following the guidelines of CNH Industrial Business System. This position manages a portfolio of projects, holding project leaders accountable to meet timelines and deliver the expected results of their projects.  Must be able to learn, use, and teach basic Lean Manufacturing tools to attack a variety of safety, quality, and productivity losses. Works independently and within a team environment.
This position will:
  • Manage CNH Reman’s Continuous Improvement Program to increase plant safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.
  • Deliver project savings that tie back to improvements realized on the company income statement
  • Identify, maintain, and train both new and existing Lean Manufacturing Tools

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of CNH Industrial Business System, a Lean Management process closely related to Toyota Production System, which will improve overall employee safety, product quality, overhead costs, lead-times, and inventory.
  • Identify, quantify, and attack losses within the plant using Lean Manufacturing Tools like Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, etc.
  • Compose, maintain, and visually display a list of projects, projected project savings, project status, etc. in a “war room” type setting
  • Assist and maintain adherence to project timelines
  • Able to influence and coach both direct and indirect reports while sourcing resources and eliminating obstacles for project success.
  • Initiate and lead projects using these direct and indirect resources to show measurable improvements in end-to-end processes.
Job Specifications:
  • Identification and correction of root causes impacting safety, quality, productivity and delivery for the business.
  • Partner with Quality Engineers and Inspectors to provide tools needed to improve overall product quality
  • Work directly with Operations and Engineering to improve process bottlenecks and manufacturing constraints

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other technical field of study plus 5 years of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience.   OR   Associate degree in a technical field of study with 10 years of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience.
  • Proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of employment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Project management experience with examples of detailed documentation exhibiting focus on processes and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience analyzing complex datasets, generating insights and building robust statistical models. Should be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data.
  • Thrives in detail with purpose - does not get paralyzed by analysis.
  • Ability to develop action plans, obtain or assign resources, and align day-to-day processes to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ability to analyze data to gather actionable insights.
  • Ability to achieve project goals and objectives by applying the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful project completion.
  • Understand key financial topics, including Budgeting, Yield, Waste, Scrap and Loss Analysis
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days as needed to meet business demands
  • Experience with Syteline a plus
