Our Market Operations SCM team is responsible for supply chain processes and systems design & deployment, flawless product launches, global logistics and broader business execution, including working capital management. Our supplier quality team works with site quality engineering staff to set and monitor consistent supplier quality performance KPI's, address supplier performance issues, and drive ongoing quality performance improvement.
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager - JDM (Joint Design and Manufacturing) to join our global team to lead our strategic sourcing, supplier selection & development, commodity engineering, component engineering and materials cost-reduction initiatives in support of our Connectivity and Cloud Solutions (CCS) segment.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in both customer management, and design for supply chain initiatives. The incumbent will lead the efforts of multiple support organizations, globally, to ensure a successful engagement with Celestica's product design customers.
Detailed Description
  • Provides leadership and direction with respect to interaction with suppliers. Leads process development and development of commodity strategies.
  • Supports freight & logistics optimization efforts for ensuring favorable rates and cycle times for Celestica and customers.
  • Maintains regular communication with customers regarding demand, commitments, non-performing inventory, and future process changes /improvements.
  • Works with the supply chain management process for customers, from materials pricing and BOM analysis to delivery execution and flexibility performance.
  • Provides support to the team on management of materials availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set.
  • Provides leadership in designing the supplier portion of the materials supply chain to provide optimum flexibility with minimum investment.
  • Supports the effort to identify and develop suppliers to meet current and future business needs.
  • Supports efforts to reduce material cost and assess/respond to supply risks.
  • Supports contracts and agreements for supplier chain related sections.
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels including executives and/or major customers.

  • Supports the development of delivery requirements, material plans and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.
  • Responsible for customer interface from SCM including relationship management and as focal point for all SCM related issues.
  • Responsible for tracking and driving inventory results by working with SCM Managers, Directors & GMs and customer VP/GMs.
  • Participates in business process improvements to help achieve inventory targets and maximize return on investment. Works to ensure Celestica is compliant with customs and regulatory laws.
  • Directly manages a group of SCM employees including employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation and recognition.
  • Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve these goals.
  • Supports projects or programs on a global basis.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.

  • Frequent travel to related sites is required (up to 25%)
