Job Title: Quality Inspector - Aerospace
Location: Piney Flats, TN

Industry: Aerospace / Aviation / ManufacturingAbout the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform in-process and final inspections of aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and industry standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001. The ideal candidate has strong inspection experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.Key Responsibilities
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies
  • Interpret and inspect to engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and work instructions
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMMs
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in accordance with AS9100 requirements
  • Initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs) and support root-cause and corrective-action activities
  • Verify supplier-provided materials and components against receiving requirements
  • Ensure product traceability and proper use of documentation and traveler packets
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve issues
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain a culture of quality and compliance
Required Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency with hands-on metrology tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (ANSI Y14.5)
  • Working knowledge of inspection documentation and non-conformance reporting
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong documentation skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP/MRP systems, or Quality software)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, precision machining, or a related field
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and general aerospace quality processes
  • Experience with CMM programming or operation (PC-DMIS, Zeiss, or similar)
  • Experience with first article inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentation
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
  • AS9100 / ISO 9001 and/or Internal Audit experience
  • Gage and Tool Calibration experience
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use small precision tools and machines safely
