This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing materials, components, and products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.  The role involves conducting inspections, identifying defects, and recommending corrective actions to ensure products are safe, reliable, and meet customer expectations.  The Inspector will receive training on reading drawings and understanding customer requirements and inspecting to those requirements.  S/he will also perform Final V&M, and other inspections prior to parts being shipped along with documenting findings and ensuring quality parts go out the door.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products using appropriate methods and tools.  
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including reports, logs, and non-conformance records.
  • Ensure products comply with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities, and document findings accurately.
  • Work with production and quality teams to recommend and implement corrective actions to address defects and prevent recurrence.
  • Calibrate and maintain inspection and testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
  • Communicate inspection results and quality issues to relevant stakeholders, including production ,engineering, and management teams.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures.

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and methodologies, such as AS9100 or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in quality control, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or a related fields is advantageous.
  • Ability to use and read necessary tooling including but not limited to calipers, feeler gauges, and x-ray.
