Summary:
Manages inspection activities within Production areas to ensure product quality standards are maintained and customer requirements are met. Provides overall guidance of inspection activities to ensure resources are appropriately utilized. Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in metrology tool use, CMM operation/programming and GD&T.
  • Creates, documents and implements inspection criteria and procedures including CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and serve as subject matter expertise in metrology.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data (SPC) and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Formulates documents and maintains quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives, including International Organization of Standards (ISO) certifications.
  • Experience with the Following: Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Metrology, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, Quality Management System (QMS), Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gage R&R), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), New Product Introduction (NPI), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), 5S/Kaizen.
  • Understands requirements and oversees inspectors work to ensure product quality requirements are met.
  • Manages the identification, segregation, and documentation of nonconforming material as documented in production by all personnel.
  • Review and improve existing inspection processes, tools, and systems.
  • Coordinate priorities from internal customers to meet department goals.
  • Participate in discussions with customers and/or auditors as required.
  • Participate in cross departmental/divisional projects related to inspection activities.
  • Lead or participate in a continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to company, site, and department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to create specific training programs for Quality Inspectors
  • Compile and report quality data for internal and external customers including FAI
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of Statistical Process Control and Control Plans
  • Ability to guide the organization on best measurement practices and documentation
  • Implements a regular Quality Audit program, maintaining current procedures and making recommendations for enhancements as appropriate
  • Provides work direction to Line Auditors and determine manpower requirements for audit areas
  • Compiles and measures audit results so that progress towards continuous improvement can be assessed
  • Works with functional groups to improve process compliance
  • Interfaces with support groups to highlight areas that could assist in improving process compliance
  • Maintains required employee records
  • Participates and/or leads Customer Support and Quality Improvement teams in order to continually improve product quality and throughput and reduce overtime
  • Acts as a back-up for the Manager as required
  • Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality in a timely manner.
  • Supervises inspectors testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
  • Provides technical and statistical expertise to teams and leadership.
  • Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.
  • Provides, and oversees inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • Applies Benchmark Quality Management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interacts with site Supplier Quality Engineer(s) for vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. Investigate, communicate and correct out of spec. parts received in a timely manner.
  • Creates and direct environmental test functions and applications.
  • Maintains active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Designs, develops and implements quality control training programs.
  • Provides expertise, and actively participates in the overall safety management program.

Compensation Range: $86,014.000 to $107,517.00 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
