Job description

Senior Quality Engineer - Manufacturing

Full time

Location: Hayward, CA โ€“ onsite only

Citizens or Green Card holders only

Compensation: $85K - $115K/year

Our client seeks a talented Senior Quality Engineer with a minimum of four yearsโ€™ experience making parts for the Semiconductor and Aerospace industries. This position reports to the Quality Engineering Manager.

You will ensure their parts are made with as little risk for defect as possible. How will you do this? By means of two approaches: Proactively, you will establish quality requirements and controls that govern how work gets done on the floor. Reactively, you will perform postmortems and RCCAs for jobs in which those requirements and controls failed to prevent non-conformances. When you find the QMS flawed or deficient, youโ€™ll work on improving it. You will work as a liaison between quality assurance, control and mechanical engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use clientโ€™s QMS to ensure quality throughout the shop.
  • Upkeep, improve, and evolve companyโ€™s quality operations.
  • Work with customers and vendors on all things quality.
  • Execute various Quality Engineerโ€™s tasks and functions as directed by the Quality Engineering Management.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 4 + yearsโ€™ experience in equivalent or similar role.
  • A deep understanding of the various quality control methodologies commonly employed.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, 8D, NC/CAPA, and SPC a plus
  • Knowledge of GD&T a plus.
  • Experience making components for the Semiconductor and Aerospace industries.
  • Basic understanding of the metal manufacturing world including but not limited to, punching, forming, welding, machining, and assembling.
  • Basic SolidWorks skills, Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and people skills.
  • Attention to details (no mistakes please!). No politicians and no shitty attitudes.
