Summary:

The Quality Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for executing defined quality activities in support of new product development and sustaining products. The role focuses on implementation, analysis, and problem investigation, ensuring products and processes meet defined quality, safety, and compliance requirements. Responsible for ensuring product quality and specification compliance for sourced products and materials. Some travel will be expected and availability for international conference calls will be required.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute qualification and validation plans for new products and changes to existing products and processes, following established procedures and standards.
  • Support crossfunctional teams in identifying potential quality risks and investigating quality issues in development and production environments.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including data collection, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, PPAP, and MSA.
  • Analyze quality data and summarize findings and recommendations for review by senior quality staff or management.
  • Support customer and consumer complaint investigations by gathering data, participating in root cause analysis, and implementing assigned corrective actions.
  • Ensure assigned work complies with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, escalating risks or concerns as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 2-5 years of quality engineering or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality methods and systems, including statistics, sampling, auditing, and structured problemsolving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5Why, PDCA).
  • Familiarity with APQP/PPAP/FMEA/Control Plan tools.
  • Experienced background in various types of manufacturing. Working knowledge in the plastics, glass, metals, and/or electric commodities is preferred.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Exposure and experience in six-sigma, lean, FMEA and team-based project management is highly desirable.
  • Must understand how to determine risk associated with level of testing and inspection performed to make good decisions based upon the analysis of those tests and inspections.
