Job description

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide technical leadership across raw-material, internal-production, supplier, and customer quality processes. The role focuses on reducing Cost of Poor Quality, improving process capability, maintaining AS9100 compliance, and supporting Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reduce scrap, escapes, and overall Cost of Poor Quality
  • Report quality-performance results and lead corrective actions
  • Improve machine capability and process controls
  • Partner with Supply Chain to improve supplier quality
  • Travel to supplier locations when required
  • Develop CMM and SmartScope programs and inspection fixtures
  • Train inspectors on inspection processes
  • Support contract review and FMEA activities
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality concerns
  • Lead CAPA activities
  • Develop inspection and in-process control plans
  • Support production measurement and scrap-reduction activities
  • Support material-review-board processes
  • Provide supplier quality engineering support
  • Create and maintain quality metrics
  • Conduct internal audits
  • Assist the Quality Manager as required

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Technology, or a related field
  • At least five years of aerospace quality engineering experience
  • Knowledge of AS9100, SPC, capability studies, GD&T, and gaging methods
  • Strong computer, communication, and mathematical skills
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Precision-machining experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer credential
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
