Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is a full-service, multi-disciplinary engineering, architectural, and environmental consulting firm that provides planning, design, and construction management services. With a professional and technical staff of over 750, the firm’s services are focused on the needs of governmental, educational, institutional, and private sector clients.

We are currently seeking a civil engineer for highway engineering in our Baltimore, MD office. The Entry Level Highway Engineer is responsible for the planning and design on transportation related projects. The primary duties will be to support Senior Project Engineers in a variety of tasks to support design of transportation facilities, including design of highways, pedestrian facilities, bicycle facilities, and transit improvements. Responsibilities will include development of geometric alignments, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and the development of technical reports.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Relevant internship/job experience related to transportation engineering.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
